Well… “the more things change, the more they stay the same!” Yes, there is a reason that ‘to the shores of Tripoli‘ is the second line in the Marine Corp Hymn.
Lets review the words written by Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, dated March 28, 1786, to U.S. Minister of Foreign Affairs John Jay, reporting on their meeting with the Ambassador of Tripoli:

And from the Headlines today: The Islamic State terror group has come out publicly to reject Pope Francis’ claims that the war being waged by Islamic terrorists is not religious in nature, assuring the pontiff that their sole motivation is religious and sanctioned by Allah in the Qur’an. The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to hate you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam. Even if you were to pay jizyah [tax for infidels] and live under the authority of Islam in humiliation, we would continue to hate you.
Then there’s this little jewel : Khizr Khan enjoying his now 15 minutes of fame for bashing Donald Trump, made his money by selling U.S. citizenship to Muslims. As an immigration lawyer for Muslims, Khizr Khan specializes in highly controversial visa programs that sell U.S. citizenship to Muslims by letting them buy their way into the U.S. (source: Bare Naked Islam).
So smack dab at the intersection of a Muslim lawyer’s avarice and quest for personal profit, the legacy of the Arab Slave Trade and the recent repudiation of Pope Francis’ claims; “that Islam is peaceful”; by the Islamic State, we are finding the callous threads Political Islam. Political Islam has been subjugated civilizations for 1,400 years – we, in the west, ignore this at our own peril!
